SIKSAKUBUR from Indonesia are a fine Example for pretty brutal grindin Stuff from Asia. The Mini-CD The Carnage brings you 9 Tracks of ear-smashing Death/Grind in good old DEICIDE/ CANNIBAL CORPSE/ SUFFOCATION-Tradition! How is the History of the Band?

For this question please read our Biography.

What does the Name SIKSAKUBUR mean?

In english mean "Grave Torture". in our religion (Moslem) "SIKSA KUBUR" is a horrible torture in the grave.

Which Bands would you name as prime Influences for SIKSAKUBUR? Japras Voice reminds a Bit of Frank Mullen of the legendary SUFFOCATION...

How doesnt know suffocation the masterpiece, We like SUFFOCATION very much. we like many bands like: Suffocation, Kreator, fear factory, cannibal corpse, cryptopsy, old sepultura, and many more. But in our music we try to make our own musick style.

Tell us something about the Scene in Indonesia. A Couple of Tapes from Indonesian Bands is available here in Germany, so I bet, theres a big Underground-Scene. Is that right?

Yeah, Indonesia have many great underground bands also have a big scene here !! But the band equipment are so minimum, very hard to get a good band equipment here. We are in economic crisis, Fuck !!

What about the Scene in Asia in generally? Any Bands in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and so on?

Im not really know about underground scene in other countries in Asia beside Indonesia, but yes there are many underground bands too in there ... some people, zines, bands and labels from there ever contact us.

Which Bands and Releases would you recommend us from Asia?

SO many bands & releases are great from my countries Indonesia, like Flesh Filth, Authority, Jasad, Funeral Inception, Absolute Defiance, Forgotten, Death Vomit and many more!!!

Where did you already play Gigs outside Indonesia?

We never play gigs outside Indonesia, because the organized of some gigs cannot give enough fee for us. The transportation is very expensive.

Is it difficult for an extreme Act like you in Indonesia? How liberal is Indonesia with brutal Bands, Gigs and Censorship? I must say, here in Germany its a total Desaster with that fucking Censorship-CANNIBAL CORPSE for Example may not play Songs
from their first 3 Albums on Gigs, every Cover-Artwork is banned here. What about such Shit in Indonesia?

Yes we have the same like yours, we are working very hard to do anything for the band. I would tell you, we are working so hard to keep our scene a live. I hate politics system in Indonesia, we live in Fear, Pain and anger, we live in difficulty situation.

Do you have got any Side-Projects beside SIKSAKUBUR?

Andyan Gorust: I was drummer for ABSOLUTE DEFIANCE, but now i'm only concentrated for my truly band SIKSAKUBUR.

What are your Lyrics about and who writes the most Lyrics from the Band? The Title of the Mini-CD says me, that you are into Horror/Splatter-Stuff. Do you watch a Lotta Movies like that? And is it difficult or easy to get such Movies in Indonesia?

Japra (Vocals): The most writers for lyrics in the band. Yes our lyrics are into horror, terrify death, victims of murder, canniballistic and more ... Yes we are often watch a lot of horror movies, it's not really difficult to get horror video in Indonesia. But sometimes we are influenced by some terrify tragedy who happened on some city in Indonesia.

When can we expect the next Release of SIKSAKUBUR?

Our new release "back to vengeance" (2nd album) is available since february 2002. more faster, heaviest, tecnically, and more intense. Released by Rottrevore record only on cassette format. soon From Beyond Production (Sub label Displeased Records - Holland) will released our two album (The Carnage + Back To Vengeance) in one CD.

Will you also release Split-EPs or Split-CDs with other cool Bands, maybe from Asia?

No, we dont have any split album yet.

How often do you rehearse with SIKSAKUBUR?

We dont have our own music studio, we only practice once a week for only 1 hour, because In Indonesia if you dont have your own music studio, you must go to music studio rent and pay for every one hour. i have tell you we live in difficulty situation.

Is there a Chance to see you on some European Stages soon?

I dont know, but we are very interested to play in some gigs in every country in this world. I hope some tour organizer on Europe or America will interested to make a tour for SIKSAKUBUR someday.

Do you listen to Death Metal and Grindcore only or also other Kinds of Music?

We are open minded, we like every kind of music that we think's great!!

What do you think about Black Metal? Just painted Clowns or another great Music-Style for you?

I dont know, we not really know about Black Metal. But we would not says Black Metal is a great music style for us.

Is there also a Black Metal-Scene in Indonesia?

Yes, Indonesia have a big scene of Black Metal Community. but forget it, im into death metal.

In the next few Years the world-wide Death Metal/Grindcore-Scene finally rised up again after that fuckin Black Metal-and Melodic Death-Boom. True, uncompromising Death Metal in the Vein of the old Godz has lucky Days now, nearly like in the Golden Years of Death in the early Nineties. What do you think about that New Wave of Death, I would call it? Is it a Blessing in your Opinion or do you think, just the old Trend-Shitters from the first big Death Metal-Boom now rejoined the Scene after the Black Metal now got boring for them?

Yeah, this is a blessing for death metal scene, its time for us to make the "New Wave of Death". So many great death metal bands now !!

What do you think about Multimedia Tracks? Can you imagine to put some Live-Shots of SIKSAKUBUR onto the following Release?

Yeah, we have a plan to put one song multimedia tracks on our next release.

What are your favorite Albums for all Times?

"Effigy Of The Forgotten" (Suffocation)

Okay, no more Questions from my Side. Good Luck with the Band and GRIND TIL DEATH!!! Do you have some last Words for the Readers?
