LEUKORRHEA (US)

"Hatefucked and tortured"-Hell, this Album is sick and extreme!! Nate, can you tell us the History of your Band?

Leukorrhea was formed in late 2000 and we didn't even really think it would come of anything. We jammed one night (our first practice) and wrote two complete songs. We kinda realized that if we could do that on a regular occasion we could do something with the band so we pushed forth and gained some more members and started writing material.

You already told me about Line up-Changes in the Band since the Release of "Hatefucked and tortured". Were it Splits in Friendship?

None of the splits were meant to sever ties in our friendships with the previous guys, but it turned out that way unfortunatly. It's kinda dissapointing that they talk shit now (at least a couple of em do) but I guess if they wanna talk shit they weren't true friends to begin with!

The Songs "Mistaken Identity", "Tied down and strung up" and "Hymns of the Rotting" are also on the "Hymns of the Rotting"-Demo. Is the Demo still available for the Fans or will you release it as a Mini-CD soon?

We can make copies of the demo for people on cd-r format and that's all it will ever be. The recording quality on it sucked, that's why we re-recorded the songs on "Hatefucked..." so they could get a real chance to be heard at better level of production.

As you told me before that Interview, you will release a Split-CD with PUTRILAGE from Texas and the Stuff on that Output will be more intense than that on the "Hatefucked and tortured"-CD. Did you play more brutal and faster?

It's definetly more brutal and has a little more speed but not so much that people will notice any big sound change, we are still the same band. Our songs just have some better structures now that we've been jamming together for a while. The 3 songs on this split will really make an impression on people when they hear it. It's going to be great. We are really looking forward to do this, Putrilages songs are gonna be great too, we heard a few while on tour with them. Look for the split to be out sometime by the end of 2002 on The Spew Records.

Your Vocal-Style is a Bit different than that of other Frontmen of today's brutal Death Acts. You don't try to get as deep as possible and have more hoarse Roars than vomiting Growls. Is that your Intention or can't you go deeper?

I can go a bit deeper if I wanted but I just do what comes out when we are writing the songs and fitting in the vocal patterns. I have no real "intention" as far as my voice goes, it's just what comes out!

Where did you record the Album?

"Hatefucked..." was recorded locally at a place called Griffin Sound Studios and is owned by a guy named Chris Griffin. We mainly went there cause it was so close. Chris had never recorded metal so it was a bit of a change for him, he mainly does local shit like blues bands and high school band recordings.

The Production is very intense, especially the Drums kick Ass. Are you satified with it?

We are pretty satisfied, I think some things could have come out better like the raw sound but we can't complain really. We have got alot of really good feedback and only one negative review so far so it can't be that bad I guess.

Does your Label "Forever Underground" do enough for you, making much Promotion, sending you on good Tours and so on?

Bill does a great job at what working his bands and promoting them. Almost every fest we've wanted to get on he has added us to the line-up. He just put us on our first tour this past April with Beheaded from Malta and Putrilage from Texas. Bill is growing more and more every day and there is shit to really look forward to in the future for him. We are all definitely happy with Forever Underground Records.

About your Lyrics: Topic Number 1 is the good old Horror/Splatter-Stuff, right?

Yeah, the lyrics are of course gore oriented. Some sonsg are written from different perspectives, like "Mistaken Identity" is written as if it were the Green River Killer himself writing the lyrics. Some of the newer shit we are writing has more realistic topics. One of our new songs "Sodomy (Pedophile In You)" is written about the Catholic Church and all the shit that they are doing to supress the fact that their priesthood members are a bunch of fuckin pedophiles. Not al the new songs will touch on real subjects but we want to add some that are.

From which Movies are the Photos in the CD- Inlay of "Hatefucked and tortured"?

Honestly Marc I have no idea. Bill from Forever Underground did the whole layout and the pics were added by him so I don't know the answer really to that question.

You are from Massachusettes. Tell us a Bit about this Region. Are there many cool Bands, you can recommend?

Massachusetts had a stale scene for a while but is definetly growing. We have alot of great bands like Goratory, Bane Of Existence, Burial, December Wolves, Beyond The Embrace, Despoilment (which has members from the now defunct band Acephalus) and a few others.

Is your Live-Video "Bodies In The Quagmire" available in Stores or Mailorders?

"Bodies..." was thrown together from a tape we had from the 2002 Ohio Deathfest. We wanted to make our website a bit more interactive and not just have mp3's. The video is mainly just available on the web for people to check out. We are thinking about taking that and some other footage from our US Tour and putting it on our next full length as a cd-rom extra.

What does the Band Name LEUKORRHEA mean?

Leukorrhea is a thick, white discharge from the vagina. Most females have no idea but about once a month they get this with their good friend Aunt Flow when she makes her monthly visit. Pregnant woman get this frequently as well.

Is there a Chance to see you on some European stages soon?

We would love to come to Europe but finances right now are tight and we really wanna get some new recordings out before going over there. From what our label tells us about 65% of our sales are in Europe so eventually we really want to get out there and meet all the nuts that bought our CD out there. If we could get out there for cheap money or if a promoter wants to help bring us over we are definitely interested!!!

What was the first record or CD you ever bought?

Back in 1983 the first cassette I bought was Ozzy's "Bark At The Moon"!

Who's your All Time-Fave in Death Metal-Music?

If I had to pick one it would have be Carcass. I bought "Reek Of Putrefaction" on the whim when it came out in 1989, I got it mainly cause the cover was so disgusting. I was hooked on Carcass since then...

With which bands did you have your best gigs and tours til now?

Our only tour (w/ Beheaded and Putrilage) was sick as hell. My favorite shows from that would have to be the one's we did in Houston (Deep In The Pit Of Texas Fest), Ohio Deathfest, New Mexico with Victimas, North Carolina with Lust Of Decay and Detroit with Internal Suffering, Saprogenic and Mutilated was a sick show. This past Saturday we had a great show in New York with Lividity, Dwelling Madness and Copremesis, the crowd was great and everyone at the show had great sets. It was probably my favorite show so far!

One private question: How do you and your Band-Mates spend your whole Days, when you don't rehearse or play live with the Band? Jobs and Hobbies beside Music and so on...

Right now I am unemployed so I don't really do shit except work on my website www.bludgawd.com, my life and hobby is death metal and I pretty much eat, shit and sleep it. When not doing anything with metal I spend as much time with my girlfriend Leah as we can. It's hard with our schedules to get alot of free time so when we get it we usually go out and just have a good time. I also spend half of the week with my daughter Xena, I say half because her mother gets her the other half since we divorced. Mike and Ron are both mechanics and work the normal 9-5 hours. Mike also has a family with kids and his wife Tammy so alot of his time is spent with them as well. Bob is unemployed at the moment like me and he pretty much does the same thing I do and soends time with his girlfriend Hope. Other than that we are pretty boring people....

Is it true, that most Americans love today's Cult-Cartoons such as THE SIMPSONS or SOUTH PARK? Here in Germany that Series have Lots of enthuseastic Fans. Do you also like theese Cartoons?

I can't explain why but ya most Americans are pre-occupied by these types of shows. I really like both of them but I'd say the Simpsons is way better. The foul mouthed stuff on South Park gets really old after the first few times you watch it, where as the Simpsons is funny every time!

Okay, Nate, that was all from my Side. I hope to hear soon again from you. GRIND 'TIL DEATH!!! The famous last Words belong to you.

Marc, thanks alot for the interview and the support for Leukorrhea over there in Germany. We really appreciate it! Remember, this fall/winter 2002 look for the "Putrikorrhea" (Putrilage/Leukorrhea) Split CD coming out on the Italian label The Spew Records. Check out www.bludgawd.com/leukorrhea for more info. Keep it brutal!
