Hi Rene! Long time ago, since we talk about DEMENTOR last time.

Hi Leif. It really had been a long time we did not talk. Nobody cares of us until we have anew album out. I am glad the time has come to talk again.

First of all congratulations for "God Defamer"! It really blows me away. Really great, in the DEMENTOR tradition, but I think a little bit faster!

Thank you. I think this really is our best album and the main reason why is the Stage One studio and Andy Classen behind. We always wanted to produce such a fast, furious and aggressive albums but we had a bad luck on the producer. We also realized Pro Art is not an appropriate work shop for us. Maybe "God Defamer" is as fast as our second CD "The Art Of Blasphemy" which really blows away!

Why did it take so long, till your fourth CD was released? There are nearly four year between "Enslave The Weak" and your actual output! Did you any tournings in this time? What went wrong with the DEICIDE tour?

Yes, we had to wait so long for "God Defamer". We had serious problems with the line up after recording of "Enslave The Weak". Firstly I had to look for a new ones to join me which was not easy at all. Finally after I thought the line up got stabilized well another departures took its place. We left just in two again and started our hard search for a good drummer. As soon as we found him we went on in three pieces and started to create new stuff. Actually the whole album was ready in the spring 2003 and we wanted to enter the studio immediately. However Stage One was fully occupied and we just had to wait. We entered it in the autumn and recorded the shit however the cover art work made us wait another long period. As you know the album was out only in May 2004, one year after we had the material ready. To promote our album we toured Europe with SUFFOCATION in June. Osmose originally wanted us to support DEICDE but we did not get on the list. Finally DEICIDE cancelled their tour.

You kicked out every three members next to you. What happened? Please introduce your new partners in blasphemy the two Rastos!

Actually I kicked out nobody. These guys decided to leave because of various reasons. One said he wants to care of his little baby son. Another said he has no motivation at all and the last one left to Spain for working there. In the end they mobilized their powers and behind my back started a project. It means the reasons they presented to me were not the main ones. Anyway, I had to focus on the future and not to look back. As you know I found appropriate replacements. And you do not know their project got ruined after they recorded a poor demo which did not attract anybody. Rasto Schmogner plays guitar now and is the longest in the band after me now. He played in ACOASMA before he joined me. Rasto Petrovic plays also in PROTEST as well and is our drummer. We also took a new bass player several months ago. His name is Marian Sopko.

This time you recorded your CD at Stage One Studio in Germany. Why did you choose this stay and how was the work with Andy Classen?

After the rather poor production of "Enslave The Weak" Osmose decided we will not record the next album anywhere in Slovakia again. They allowed us to go to Poland where are many of great studios, but also proposed to record "God Defamer" either at Stage One or in France (I do not know the name of the studio but the production I have heard was good, too). Since I was a big fan of KRISIUN's "Conquerors Of Armageddon" sound I did not hesitate at all. I pushed Osmose to book recording dates at Stage One for us. Deciding between Stage One and any another studio was not dilemma at all. For us it was something like one of the last chances to show our qualities. Therefore we could not afford to miss this chance or risk to loose it at any unknown studio. You know, if we recorded poor album or just some average one it could mean we will not neither get any support nor a new contract. I must honestly say the reality at Stage One met our expectations. Andy is just great producer and his equipment is the right to record good metal albums. He is not good just for death metal but also other metal sorts like thrash. He did the production splendidly putting great effects into the vocals in order to enrich the music. We are proud of recording at Stage One and hope Andy will feel the same if he would read any review on "God Defamer".

The cover is this time drawn by famous Graal. Why did you choose him this time? I personally think, it's fitting perfect to the music and is also in the tradition of the former cover artworks!

Initially we had chosen another Polish artist however his results did not attract Osmose neither us. The label wanted something better and more fitting to our music and therefore we advised to choose Graal. Waiting for him until he gets free for starting with our cover was worthy of the huge delay we had to accept. I like his way of working. Unlike the previous one he did not push us to pick one of the already existing themes, but created a new drawing which would fit best with our lyrics and image. It is the best cover we ever had because Graal is just professional in what he's doing. I hope to have a possibility to use his work again.

The logo is this time a little bit different. Did you want another logo or is it only for this album?

We did not intend to completely change the logo. We just knew the original one was a bit disproportional. It was hard to put it into any picture. Therefore I made a revision of my drawer and found some old drafts of DEMENTOR logos. We picked one and used it. I think it is not too different from the original one. It still goes in its tradition. You also can realize we always made some minor changes on our logos to make it more interesting. However I hover we will stick with the new one in the future.

Perhaps you can tell me a little bit more about your lyrics. 100% blasphemy again?

The lyrics go in the same way like in the past. We just hate christianity so why not to express this hatred? Guys from Canadian Albertas Necro Cult helped me out with several lyrics. The rest is written by myself. I think the new lyrics are more matured. I tried to prevent myself from using ideas I can not explain.

You are still on Osmose Prod., so it seems that you have this time more luck with your label? Do you now the sellings from "Enslave The Weak"?

We still are on Osmose and would like to stay. They rid off several good bands in the recent past and hope they wish to keep us. "Enslave The Weak" probably does not represent the best the label had edited. Therefore the promotion was not as huge as it could be. Things changed with "God Defamer", because they like it and believe it might attract a wider audience. I think there around 2500 pieces of "Enslave The Weak" sold.

Do you have some plans for a forthcoming tour?

Actually we do not have enough time to tour so much just because of our works. We just play some local gigs here and we will think about touring only if we get some interesting offer. Hard period for us now.

Ok Rene, I think that's it till now. Hope you got great reactions for the album and I hope it will not be three year, when I will next time penetrate you, haha!

Thank you for the support and place in your magazine. I promise I will not make wait for so long! KEEP THE BLASPHEMY!
